Wolverine's Role in Marvel Rivals

Wolverine is a Vanguard (tank) hero in Marvel Rivals who excels at diving into enemy lines, absorbing damage, and eliminating priority targets. His self-healing and damage resistance make him one of the most durable frontline heroes in the game.

Abilities Breakdown

Adamantium Claws (Primary Attack)

Fast melee slashes that deal consistent damage. The attack chain has 4 hits, with the final hit dealing bonus damage. Stay in melee range and keep swinging.

Feral Leap (Lunge)

Wolverine dashes forward and pounces on the first enemy hit, pinning them briefly. This is your primary engage tool and can catch squishy heroes off-guard.

Undying Animal (Passive)

Wolverine's rage meter builds as he deals and takes damage. When full, he enters a berserk state with increased attack speed and damage resistance. Managing this meter is key to playing Wolverine effectively.

Regenerative Healing Factor (Self-Heal)

Passive regeneration that heals Wolverine over time. Combined with damage from rage, this makes him incredibly hard to kill in extended fights.

Berserker Barrage (Ultimate)

Wolverine leaps into the air and slams down, dealing massive AOE damage and knocking up enemies. Best used when multiple enemies are grouped together.

Playstyle Guide

The Dive Playstyle

Your job as Wolverine is to identify and eliminate the enemy backline — healers and ranged DPS. Use Feral Leap to close the gap, burst down a target, and either secure the kill or retreat.

Engage Combo

  1. Feral Leap onto a squishy target
  2. Primary attack chain (4 hits)
  3. If they try to escape, chase with movement
  4. Pop Berserker Barrage when rage is full for team-fight impact

When to Disengage

Don't overcommit. If you've taken too much damage and your rage isn't full, retreat to your healers. Wolverine is most dangerous with rage active — without it, he's vulnerable.
